From Buzzfeed. How many times have you been asked this question by family, friends, and first time acquaintances– what’s therapy? What do you really do? Why should I go to therapy? Or perhaps the more innocuous– how do I know if my friend needs therapy? Ann Borges has compiled a (somewhat tongue-in-cheek) list after interviewing two clinicians. The list includes some standard responses like
Your moods and emotions feel out of control lately
You want to improve your relationships and be a better partner
To more humorous ones such as
You’re miserable at your job
You need a job
